SOCIAL FRANCHISING FOR 100% ENROLMENT & 100% RETENTION

To address the ongoing crisis of massive numbers of out of school children, TAP India Foundation (TAPIF) decided to re-position itself as a Social Franchising Organization. The objective is to efficiently replicate proven models for school enrolment and retention of out of school children, at scale. The Social Franchising approach is similar to Commercial Franchising: The social franchisor initiates complete knowledge transfer of their existing models/products  to the social franchisee. The Social Franchisee will then diligently replicate and scale the provided product/model.

WHY SOCIAL FRANCHISING?

  • The availability of replicable and scalable models/products that have successfully achieved impact at scale, especially in the area of mainstreaming out of school children.

  • There is an opportunity for accelerating beneficiary coverage pathways for both mature and early-stage CSOs by building on proven products and models of impact at scale, applying principles of franchising.
